The McCarragher Biogeography Research Group had a new URCA Research Assistant working on the Urban Greenways research project this past Fall 2025 and Spring 2026: Jo Schmidt (Computer Science major, Meteorology and Climatology minor)!
Jo applied their strong understanding of coding to write R protocols that will continue to assist with data organization and preparation as we further analyze greenway microclimate variability. It was a pleasure to work with Jo and their assistance moved the project forward in real ways!
Watch for an update about Fall 2026, as new URCA Research Assistant(s) will be selected soon!
No URCA projects will be active in Spring 2027, since I will be on Sabbatical.
Check back for more information about available URCA positions for Fall 2027, as I plan to continue this and other research projects and welcome interested SIUE undergraduate students to apply!
